England women scrape through to an incredible win against Indian women.
England women were incredible as they showed why they're one of the best sides in the world. It seemed as if it was the battle between the England lower order and Indian bowlers.
By the time the England lower order got settled, it was all but over for the Indian women. They had fought hard till then but failed to pounce on the control they had.
OPENERS SHINE AGAIN
The new opening pair for India did the job very well for India early in the game. They put on a 56-runs opening stand after 12 overs. Shafali Verma was at her aggressive best and Mandhana did what she does best.
MIDDLE ORDER STRUGGLES, YET AGAIN
Well, it's been a story of India for many years. The openers give them good starts more often than not, only to be thrown away by the middle order. It wasn't any different this time around. They failed for the 'n+1'th time.
CRUCIAL CAMEOS
The Indian innings was going nowhere with them being reduced to 192/9 at one stage but some fine cameos from the likes of Jhulan Goswami and Poonam Yadav made sure that India somehow reach a total of 221 on the board.
GOOD INITIAL ATTACK
The Indian bowlers were right on the money while defending a not so big total. They bowled some tidy overs and got wickets as well. They reduced England to 133/5 after 29 overs. It seemed as if they had a real crack at it.
ENGLAND REBOUND IN STYLE
At a crucial stage, the duo of young Sophia Dunkley and Katherine Brunt did the job for England. They made sure that their team suffered no more hiccups from there. The 92-runs stand for the sixth wicket sealed the game and series for England.
