In a must win game against the hosts, Indian women made a mini comeback and sealed the game by just 8 runs. The heroics of Shafali Verma and the spinners has kept team India in the contest in their quest of the T20I series.
SHAFALI POWER
Having won the toss, England women opt to bowl first. The decision was welcomed by the Indian openers very well. Shafali Verma in particular, was at her aggressive best. She scored 48 runs in 38 balls including five fours in a row off Katherine Brunt's over.

GOOD START, THROWN AWAY
At one stage, India were going good with 70/0. But Smriti Mandhana's wicket opened the floodgates and English bowlers got back their rhythm. They further choked the Indian batters and restricted them to a total of 148 in the scheduled 20 overs.
ENGLAND START WELL
Chasing a target of 149, England were riding well. Though, they lost a couple of early wickets in the powerplay, they were cruising through during the run chase with the score being 106/2 at one stage. Tammy Beaumont got a fifty for herself and captain Knight played a supporting role.
SPINNERS SPIN WEB
Indian spinners then came to their own and choked the opposition batters. Deepti Sharma got rid of a set Beaumont and further inflicted a couple of runouts.

Other spinners joined the party as well. Poonam got a couple of wickets. Sneh Rana played her part too. In the end, India somehow managed to claim a crucial win to stay alive in the series.
The decider at Chelmsford would be a good contest and both the teams would be looking forward to it.
