Dhaka: Bangladesh's clinical victory asserted their dominance over Sri Lanka yet again as they win their second consecutive ODI at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. The win has also resulted in Bangladesh's first-ever bilateral ODI series win over Sri Lanka.

In a rain-affected game, Bangladesh's skipper Tamim Iqbal won the toss and opted to bat first. Sri Lanka initially got rid of Bangladesh's skipper and Shakib Al Hasan within two overs, and also dismissed the likes of Liton Das and Mosaddek Hossain early. Dushmantha Chameera in particular was exceptional in his first spell.

THE RESCUE ACT

However, the ever-reliable duo of Mushfiqur Rahim-Mahmudullah helped Bangladesh to recover from a top-order collapse. Mushfiqur Rahim scored his eighth ODI hundred and Mahmudullah was happy to play the second fiddle and scored 41 runs. Their efforts propelled Bangladesh to a respectable total of 246.
Dushmantha Chameera and Lakshan Sandakan picked up three wickets each for Sri Lanka, while Isuru Udana picked a couple of wickets and Wanindu Hasaranga got rid of Mehidy Hasan.

SRI LANKA CRUMBLE

Chasing 247, Sri Lanka never seemed to be in the contest. They kept on losing the wickets at regular intervals of the game. No batsman from the Sri Lankan lineup tried to stay at the crease. Bangladesh's Mehidy Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman claimed three wickets respectively, while Shakib Al Hasan picked up two wickets. Shoriful Islam had a good debut as he picked up the wicket of the opposition captain, Kusal Perera.

The match couldn't continue longer as the rain-affected the second innings badly. Based on the Duckworth-lewis stern method, Bangladesh was declared the winners by 103 runs.
