INTRODUCTION:
The Royals had a decent campaign last year finishing 5th in the table. But the disappointing thing is that they actually slipped to the position from being table toppers at one stage. They won 5 out their first 8 games and just 2 out of the next 6. Despite not qualifying, the Royals didn’t drop a lot of players going into the auction. Hence, they had a minimum purse & were looking for just replacements. They released Jason Holder the bowling all-rounder and bought Rovman Powell the batting allrounder. They also found a replacement for Trent Boult in Nadnre Burger and traded Avesh Khan for Devdutt Padikkal.
