RAJASTHAN ROYALS:
RR is the only unbeaten side in the tournament and will look to extend their dream start to the tournament. Both their batting & bowling departments has been working for them so far. Their biggest positive would be that they have won these 4 games without contribution from Yashaswi Jaiswal. The Royals have had different way to win games. While other teams looking to maximize the powerplay with the bat, Royals have been very slow in the initial six overs and have managed to compensate it in the death overs. Both Buttler & Jaiswal have not given the starts they needed. But Jos Buttler coming back to form is the biggest positive for them. Their bowling is also shining as Boult has been doing what he does. They have not felt the absence of Sandeep Sharma in the last two games, as Avesh Khan has stepped up. Ashwin & Chahal are helping each other by one containing the runs and the other going for wickets.
GUJARAT TITANS:
GT are coming into this game after back-to-back losses. They lost both the games after being on top at one stage. They were not prepared for the Shashank Show against the Kings & their batting failed awfully against the Super Giants. The thin batting lineup of the Titans was considered to be a concern ever since their inception. But there were 2 -3 batters performing consistently in each game. But this year, with Gill not getting support from Saha & their most experienced player Miller getting injured has made their middle order vulnerable. Sai Sudharshan is getting runs but not big runs and his strike rate is not yet a problem. And Vijay Shankar is not the Vijay Shankar of IPL 2023. Rahul Tewatia is also not able to show his finishing abilities consistently as most of the times he found himself batting with the tail. In their bowling department too, they have issues. Post surgery, Rashid is not having the same impact which he used to have. Mohit Sharma has been below par in the last two games, where batters are waiting for his back of the hand slower ones.
RR vs GT – HEAD-to-HEAD:
Both Rajasthan & Gujarat have met 5 times in the IPL. Gujarat has won the first 4 games with Rajasthan winning the last one.
