Preview- The ODI series set to be played by these two sides is a part of the ICC ODI World Cup Super League while the T20I series to be played between these two sides holds great relevance for both the sides with the T20 World Cup being just about the corner but even the most ardent of Cricket fans are finding it difficult to understand the relevance of this one-off Test between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh which marks the beginning of this all format tour.
As a matter of fact, this game, as always, has a lot to offer for both the sides from this fixture. Bangladesh didn’t impress anyone during the previous cycle of World Test Championship but they would like to amend that in this cycle of World Test Championship and though this one-off game is not a part of the World Test Championship, it offers Bangladesh an opportunity to get their plans and balance right in the longest format of the game before they begin their campaign in this cycle of the World Test Championship.
Zimbabwe, on the other hand, won’t be pleased after their performance in the last Test series that they played against Pakistan where they had to face innings defeat in both the Tests of the series and they would be looking to make amends in this one-off fixture. Zimbabwe have a better squad available at their resource for this game though and with the home advantage on their side an upset over here can infuse fresh life into Zimbabwe’s campaign in the longest format of Cricket and it will also enable them send a statement to the ICC who didn’t keep Zimbabwe in the World Test Championship despite them being a moderately old Test side.
