Overview: -
Time: 7:30 PM
Date: 10th April 2022
Venue: Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
Rajasthan Royals: -
After winning matches against an underwhelming Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals consigned to a defeat by Royal Challengers Bangalore, failing to defend 170 runs.
For them, Jos the Boss is in the form of his IPL career. Jos Buttler has scored 205 runs in just 3 matches as an opener, with a century and a fifty. His century came against mighty Mumbai Indians at DY Patil Stadium and a fifty against Royal Challengers Bangalore at MCA Pune. RR captain Sanju Samson and Devdutt Padikkal have looked good with the bat so far, while opener Yashaswi Jaiswal has been in poor form, something they need to rectify as soon as possible.
Their bowling department’s form looks lethal, with Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal looking in supreme touch with the ball as a pacer and a spinner respectively. Although Ravichandran Ashwin has failed to impress so far, but he would look to contain runs on a run-scoring pitch of Wankhede Stadium.
Lucknow Super Giants: -
Form has been great for Lucknow Super Giants after their loss to Gujarat Titans in their inaugural match. Lucknow, captained by KL Rahul has been on a hattrick of wins, first winning against Chennai Super Kings, then against Sunrisers Hyderabad and against Delhi Capitals. They look a complete team, with excellent quality of their first-choice playing XI and is a team to see for the playoffs race.
It is good to see Quinton de Kock back in good form and Deepak Hooda has his best IPL season so far with the bat, scoring 2 fifties for the first time in a single IPL season. Not to forget, Ayush Badoni is a find for them who is finishing matches with calm and authority, thus the media comparing him to AB de Villiers!
Their bowling line-up has also been good, with Avesh Khan among the one to watch out for earning a purple cap this year. Although Manish Pandey’s return to the side is a concern due to injury, till then they might continue fielding Krishnappa Gowtham in the side, who can give an extra spin-bowling option. Jason Holder also looked economical with the ball in IPL 2022 as of now.
