Last time when these two teams played against each other in M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, match ended in a thrilling Super Over. Delhi later on went to win as they held their nerves and handled pressure well in a low scoring super over contest.
Both the teams would be looking forward to start their second phase of the IPL campaign with a win and carry the momentum for the future matches in the ongoing tournament.
Sunrisers Hyderabad:- SRH has been one of the most consistent teams in terms of reaching the playoffs continuously in the last 5 seasons of IPL and winning the title once in 2016. But when it comes to this season, they had a lean patch in the first half of the season. They just managed to win 1 out of their 7 games played so far. They even sacked David Warner as captain and benched him and appointed Kane Williamson as captain of the team as the team was at the bottom of the points table.
With Bairstow opting out of IPL, it is likely that Warner will be recalled into playing 11 as an opener. SRH has a great top order with Warner, Saha, Williamson, Manish and bunch of youngsters in the middle order in Samad, Garg, Abhishek, Virat Singh. Though they haven't clicked yet, it is expected that they will showcase their talent and potential sooner. Their batting order has a good combination of experience and youth. SRH is known for its bowling in the history of the IPL; they have one of the best spinners and amazing pace bowling options. T Natarajan's return will help their death bowling get better along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar. With each match being almost do or die situation for them and nothing much to lose, SRH could be a dangerous side.
Delhi Capitals:- Delhi Capitals will look to maintain the same form they showed in the first half of the IPL. They dominated the first half of the season and are currently positioned at the top 2 of the points table and are one of the red-hot favourites to win the title this season.
With the return of Shreyas Iyer, it will boost their middle order and makes their batting unit more stronger as they can play aggressive Hetmyer instead of anchor Smith, as Iyer would be taking the role of Smith. And Iyer can also help Pant in leadership management and decisions to be taken on the field. They have one of the best openers in the pair of Dhawan and Shaw who always give them a fiery start and full of talented middle order batsmen. Pant and Iyer have been great assets for Delhi franchise since the beginning of their IPL career. They have quality finishers in the form of Stoinis and Hetmyer. They have a completely packed batting lineup with no issues or weaknesses in it. DC has two best firing speedsters who click 140kmph+ regularly in the likes of Rabada and Nortje. They have amazing spin bowling options with Axar, Ashwin and Amit Mishra. With the squad they have and the position they are at currently they wouldn't be any happy if at all they don't finish in top 2. Their aim would be to finish in top 2 so each and every match counts for them too, as finishing in top 2 helps in increasing their chances to win their maiden IPL title.

Pitch Report:-
The pitch is hard and there is a bit of grass on it. The conditions will be hot like typical Dubai weather. It's a good sporting wicket where quick bowlers will get initial swing in the powerplay overs from the surface and later on it becomes easy for batsmen. 160 to 170 runs would be ideal here. Dew factor wouldn't play a huge role as there will be no or minimal dew.
Predictions:-
After looking at both the squads and the performances of both the teams in the first half of the IPL, Delhi Capitals look more balanced and stronger compared to SRH and they will start as favourites to win the match. But a team like SRH who are known for comebacks can't be underestimated at all.
Team that wins the toss is expected to bowl first as pitch gets better with time.
