It's a repeat of the 2023 finals at Narendra Modi Stadium on the 10th May as Gujarat Titans host the Chennai Super Kings. While the former hangs by the thread for a playoff qualification, the later has all to play for in the endgame of IPL 2024
Gujarat Titans:
A team with bustling success in their maiden 2 seasons, the Titans have a fall from grace in 2024. Gujarat had lost 7 games combined in 2022 and 2023 league stages whereas now they have already been defeated in 7 of their 11 games so far and languish at the bottom. Batting has been a chaotic mess, with the team’s batsmen unable to make use of the flat pitches offered this year. On the other hand, star bowler Rashid has had his worst ever IPL season which is only amplified by absence of Shami, the previous year's purple cap winner. Both Sai Sudharshan and Sai Kishore can be termed as rare bright spots in an otherwise dismal campaign, and Gill's men should give it their all vs CSK, for if they lose, they are out of Tata IPL 2024.
Chennai Super Kings:
The 5-time champion, CSK, started their season on a slow note but they seem to have picked up the pace at the very right moment, having the 2nd best net run rate despite sitting at 4th. Though they can't afford to lose steam for a loss today and that will mean they are back in a dogfight with LSG and DC for the 4th spot. Captain Gaikwad’s recent form is a plus point for the team, who is currently in a see-saw battle with Kohli for the orange cap. On the other hand, the bowling hardly has played on it’s full strength but collective performances have ensured CSK look poised for mounting a challenging title-defence.

Playing conditions:
Narendra Modi Stadium has been amongst the relatively lower scoring grounds in this absurd IPL. Nevertheless, the average first innings score is still in excess of 175.
Expect both side spinners to deal the major of the damage and quite a few catches to be taken at the square boundaries.
Interesting Facts and Trivia:
- Wriddhiman Saha requires 66 runs to complete 3000 IPL runs.
- Rashid Khan requires 3 wickets to pick 150 IPL wickets.
