Checkout the Previews of Bangladesh Vs South Africa and India Vs Netherlands.
The results yesterday made sure that all the teams of the Group 1 have at least a point on the Points Table leaving just 2 sides in the Super 12 without a point – Netherlands and Pakistan.
Overview:
Though both these sides currently find themselves at the bottom half of the Group 2 Points table, Zimbabwe have a point while Pakistan have no point against their name. But if the performances are considered the story, it is complete opposite.
Pakistan had started off with a loss against their archrival India but it took a Virat Kohli special to chase it down and yet they made sure that India had to play the final ball to win the game. Despite the loss, they had their positives in Shan Masood and Iftikhar Ahmed’s half-centuries. Pakistan will be determined to register their first win and set their sight on the Semi-Final Berth.
Zimbabwe, on the contrary, might have a point to theirs but that was purely due to rain as they were lucky to narrowly escape from a massive loss against South Africa. Barring Madhevere’s 35 off 18, their batting looked too weak failing to strike more than 100 in a short 9 overs innings. Their bowling was toothless as South Africa smashed 51 in just 3 overs with the help of De Kock, who single-handedly caused havoc with the bat.
Predicted XI:
Pakistan: Mohammed Rizwan (WK), Babar Azam (C), Shan Masood, Iftikhar Ahmed, Haider Ali, Asif Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah
Zimbabwe: Regis Chakabva (WK), Craig Ervine (C), Wesley Madhevere, Sean Williams, Sikandar Raza, Milton Shumba, Ryan Burl, Luke Jongwe, Tendai Chatara, Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani
Weather and Pitch Report:
The Weather will be mostly cloudy, but the chances of rain will be very less.
The Pitch will provide great support to the pacers, specially through Pace and Bounce. Batting won’t be easy on this pitch but it will not be a low-scorer as well. We can expect a score in vicinity of 150-160. The long boundaries too will pose a challenge for the batters.
