1^st Innings

Powerplay: 63-1

1. Zimbabwe got off to a flier thanks to their openers who stitched a partnership of 63 from their first six overs.
2. Wesley Madhevere smashed 5 consecutive boundaries in an over against Taskin Ahmed. (4^th over)
3. At one stage, Zimbabwe scored 30 of 7 balls in the powerplay.

At 11 Overs Mark: 122-1

1. Zimbabwe continued scoring freely as Bangladesh couldn’t manage a single wicket during this phase.
2. Regis Chakabva smashed a hat-trick of sixes against Nasum Ahmed and took his individual score to 48*(21) along with Madhevere’s 42*(25).

Innings End: 193-5

1. Bangladesh halted their opponent’s momentum by picking 2 quick wickets on Soumya Sarkar’s bowling.
2. A 19 run over by Dion Myers and Ryan Burl (31* of 15) got them back their halted momentum, which took the score to a daunting 193.

2^nd Innings

Powerplay: 50-1

1. Blessing Muzarabani gave Zimbabwe the first breakthrough in the powerplay picking up an in-form Mohammad Naim on the second ball of his spell.
2. Bangladesh got off to a decent start in the chase lead by Soumya Sarkar’s calculated striking.

At 11 Overs Mark: 102-2

1. Shakib Al Hasan played a crucial cameo of 25 (13) with a boundary and two sixes before perishing to Luke Jongwe in the quest of smashing him for the third six of the over.
2. Mahmudullah built a steady partnership with Soumya as their equation read 92 runs from 54 balls for a series victory.

At 16 Overs Mark: 154-4

1. Bangladesh lost 2 wickets during this stage but also managed to keep up with their required rate.
2. Equation: 40runs | 24balls.

Innings End: 194-5 (19.2 overs)

1. With wickets in hand, the target was always within the reach of Bangladesh.
2. Finishing cameos from Shamim Hossain (26* of 13) and Afif Hossain (14 of 5) took the visiting team over the line, which also made them the Series Winners.

Result: Bangladesh won by 5 wickets.

Summary:

Zimbabwe managed to showcase some fine individual performances but frequently failed to put a team game which cost them all the series on the tour. Even though there was improvement in the overall approach for the game, Bangladesh once again proved too strong for them.

Bangladesh is fine-tuning itself for all the upcoming important tournaments. Even though this was a dress rehearsal against a lower-ranked team, they still look ready to take on the opponents at the T20I WC Qualifiers and the main tournament.
