India would be playing the longest format of the game after a really big gap.
The wait has finally come to an end as the Indian women's cricket team would be playing a test match after a gap of whopping 2401 days. They last played a test in Nov 2014 against South Africa, and the match will also mark the first non-ashes test in the same period.
Indian women's team has been a very successful team in the longest format of the game since the start of the century. They've played 10 matches of which they won 4, drew 5 and lost only 1 test. Interestingly, the loss came against England at home in a very small margin of just 2 runs.
HEAD-TO-HEAD RECORD
The two teams have faced each other in test for 13 times, out of which India have won twice, England won once and 10 of them ended in draw. In England, the two teams have played 8 tests. India won two of them and England won none with 6 of them being drawn.
PREVIOUS RESULT
When these two sides met for the last time in a test, India beat England comprehensively by 6 wickets at Wormsley in Aug 2014. India had as many as eight debutants in the match and still managed to beat a full-strength English side.

BIG CONTEXT
India has won their last three tests, which is a joint world record in itself. If they manage to win the test against England, they'd have the world record of most consecutive test wins (4) surpassing three such previous streaks of Australia. The victory would also ensure that India wins their fourth consecutive test series, which would also be a world record.
HOW PREPARED ARE BOTH THE TEAMS?
Between November 2014 to May 2021, England has the experience of playing three tests, while India has none. Out of the 17 members in the squad, England has 11 players with test experience, compared to only 8 among 18 members from the Indian squad. The preparations though were in full swing in both the camps. Indian players were looking in a good rhythm.
