The 17th edition of IPL is days away and one of the teams to look forward in this IPL is Delhi Capitals. After showing a great run of form in the 2019,2020 and 2021, Delhi Capitals finished second last in 2023. Their captain and star batter Rishabh Pant had missed the entire season last year due to the injuries he sustained in a car accident. In 2024 too, they are going to miss some of their key players. Harry Brook, arguably their biggest buy this season, has pulled out due to family reasons. Lungi Ngidi too is set to miss out. However, the positive news is that Rishabh Pant has been declared fully fit.

ANALYSIS OF LINE UP:
Delhi Capitals bought many rookies and unknown faces this season – like Kumar Kushagra, Swastik Chikara, and Sumit Kumar. The Capitals are expected to go with Prithvi Shaw and David Warner as the openers, with Mitchell Marsh coming in at 3. If one or more of them fails to deliver, it can open the gates for the likes of Yash Dhull, Ricky Bhui, Shai Hope and Jake Fraser-McGurk. Rishabh Pant is expected to bat at no.4 or no.5. Kumar Kushagra is expected to play from start given that Delhi Capitals bought him for a whopping 7.2 crores. Two among Sumit Kumar, Lalit Yadav and Swastik Chikara is likely to play. Given that Sumit and Lalit are allrounders, Swastik Chikara is likely to sit out. Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and Anrich Nortje are confirmed to play in the first game if they are fit. Mukesh Kumar is likely to be the only Indian pacer in the team to start with, while Khaleel Ahmed and Ishant Sharma might get a look in later. Tristan Stubbs or Jhye Richardson can come in as impact players, as per the team needs.
