England takes on Bangladesh in the 8th match of Super 12 at Abu Dhabi on October 27. This is going to be the second match for both the teams in Super 12. England destroyed the batting line-up of defending champions, West Indies in their opening match while Bangladesh failed to defend a decent target against Sri Lanka.
OVERVIEW
ENGLAND:- Currently England is number 1 on the points table as they played like that in their last match. If you see their squad then they are one of the teams who look strong on paper and on the field too. Their only concern is captain Morgan's form as he is in dire need of a few runs under his belt which if not found can be a burden for the team at any point but England has a heavy batting line up so there's a chance for Morgan to regain his form without taking any pressure.
BANGLADESH:- Before the Super 12, Bangladesh fought brilliantly in Round 1 and earned their spot in Super 12 but the tigers lost their opening match against Sri Lanka. They solely depend on Shakib and their middle order looks fragile. After Mushfiqur's stunning performance in the last match, Bangladesh must be a little happy and confident about their middle order as compared to the past. Their victory against the Aussies and Kiwis a few months ago in home conditions were not very effective and efficient for the World Cup preparation considering the tracks in which it were played.
Players to watch out
Shakib Al Hasan: The greatest all-rounder in the world in this format is the backbone of Bangladesh side. He contributes with both bat and ball every time. For Bangladesh, Shakib has won the last 4 Man of the Match award. His performance in Round 1 and the opening Super 12 game was exceptional.
vs Srilanka (10 runs / 2w), vs PNG (46 runs / 4w)
vs Oman (42 runs / 3w), vs Scotland (20 runs / 2w)
Moeen Ali: Moeen Ali is in a great form. His bowling has improved after IPL and he can be a key to England's chances. Apart from his bowling he can score some quick handy runs and can release pressure from the team at any moment.
Injuries and Unavailability
- The unavailability of Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes and Sam Curran might not affect much but they surely will be missing the pace of Archer in Abu Dhabi.
- Saifuddin has been ruled out of the World Cup and the decision of Tamim Iqbal to take out his name is making an impact on top order. Rubel Hossain has been announced as Saifuddin's replacement.
Pitch Report
With the match starting in the afternoon, oppressive heat of Abu Dhabi where the temperature soars above 32 degrees would be a difficult task for England. The Abu Dhabi strip is known to be aiding the pacers and the new ball-bowlers will enjoy.
