It is very rare that you see Mumbai Indians having no business whatsoever in the business end of the tournament in the IPL. They are the first team to be eliminated this season. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals are going strong and are on their way to qualify for the playoffs.
Overview:
Rajasthan Royals:
Royals will be full on confidence going into the game as they defended a paltry total against the Challengers from Bangalore. They have Jos Buttler who is breathing fire at the moment. 3 tons in a single season is a huge achievement for an international player. He will be up against Mumbai Indians who are his favourite opponents. He has scored a lot of runs against them in the past and would look to score few more especially with the weak bowling that Mumbai have at their disposal.
Mumbai Indians:
Mumbai Indians would want to salvage some pride from this game. They have played 8 and lost all of their games. The worst thing for them is that, this year's IPL is scheduled in Maharashtra which should be considered as their home ground but everything has just fallen apart for them this season. Rohit Sharma has had a stinker of a season. Bumrah has been ineffective too. They would want to salvage some pride from the last few games.
Players to watch out for:
Yuzvendra Chahal:
Lad has had a dream season after getting dropped from the national team and also Royal Challengers Bangalore not retaining him has made him perform to a point where he has to prove a point to everyone involved that he belongs here. He has knocked on the door so hard that it will be difficult for the Indian selectors to ignore him for the T20 WC.
Rohit Sharma:
Rohit Sharma hasn't been able to replicate his international form in the IPL which is hurting Mumbai Indians. He would want to get his acts together and set a platform which can help Mumbai Indians win a game. He would want to celebrate his 35th birthday in grand style by gifting fans a win which have been eluded them of happiness for a long time. As of now nothing is going as per plan. 5 times champions are searching for answers.
Rajasthan Royals won't tinker with a winning combo. They will go in with the same side whereas Mumbai Indians would hand a debut to Arjun Tendulkar.
Weather and Pitch Report:
In the last 3 out of 5 matches, the team batting first has managed to score less than 160 runs. The surface is expected to remain balanced throughout the match. The team winning the toss might not look to bat and put a huge total on the board.
