India will take on Sri Lanka on the 2nd of November at the very same venue where we last lifted the World Cup trophy, The hunt for a World Cup trophy is still there and in process, India will look to book their ticket to Mumbai again for the semi-finals. The way this Indian team is going, the way they are dominating the
top teams in the competition, it can be a one-way traffic but one can’t write off a Lankan team in a big tournament as they are the new unpredictable team in the town.
Team India:
The only team in the competition who haven’t put a foot wrong yet, they entered the competition as a top contender to lift the cup and have been moving on the same path ever since the beginning of the tournament, in their journey, they have managed to win some games so comfortably and have faced some little competition against some odd teams, for them everything is places so rightly. The team environment is looking so good, everyone is in a good space and this is what it takes to win big tournaments. Rohit Sharma who’s leading the team is providing good starts regularly and veteran Virat Kohli is playing the way we all know him and winning the games for the team. The bowling unit after the inclusion of Shami is looking much more settled and better than ever. For the Indian team, it’s all about continuing what they are doing best as of now.
Team Sri Lanka:
For Sri Lanka the road to the semis is getting tougher and tougher with each passing game, even if they win their remaining 3 games the semi-final berth will not be in their hands, it’s fair to believe that they will be playing just for pride now. Injuries haven’t been kind to the Sri Lankan team as they have seen at least 3-4 players being ruled out of the tournament. They are a team that can beat top sides on a day now and will bundle out for nothing on odd days, The team which won comfortably against Defending champions England lost a game to Afghanistan. When they take on India next up it will be more of about pride and giving good competition to team India. They have the potential to defeat India.
