Overview-
The marquee event is set to hit the city of joy as Bangladesh and Netherlands will face off each other in quest to remain alive in the tournament.
Only twice have Bangladesh and Netherlands faced each other in ODI cricket so far, with the last of those two being back in World Cup 2011 when Bangladesh defeated the Dutch to take the revenge of beating received the previous year.

This World Cup, both teams have won 1 out of 5 matches played so far, and only separated by NRR in points table. A loss here will mean all but elimination for either side. Let’s have a look at the preview of Match number 28 of CWC 2023.
Bangladesh-
Starting the tournament on a high as they beat Afghanistan comprehensively by 6 wickets, Bangladesh have disappointed cricket fans afterwards. More than defeats, it is the margin of defeats which has been worrying. Batting first they have managed to post below par totals on board and while bowling first, their bowling unit have fallen apart to concede massive scores which have been far too much to chase by their batters.

Worst bowling average and worst economy rate among all participating teams is enough to conclude how Bangladesh have fared as a bowling unit. Actually their bowlers have only managed to pick 10 wickets in the last three matches.
Add to that their batsmen have scored their runs at the worst strike rate among all teams. Litton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim have good batting average with two half centuries each for them, but they have scored their runs at a slow pace with their strike rates close to 80.
Biggest of all disappointments for Bangladesh has been Nazmul Hossain Shanto, who was expected to score good runs for them but only managed 15 runs in the last 4 innings with two ducks, after scoring an unbeaten half century against Afghanistan in the first match.
Amidst failure all all around, the veteran Mahmudullah has batted beautifully to score 41*, 46 & 111 in three innings he got to bat so far, with strike rate in excess of 100.
Netherlands -
The Netherlands have been able to live up to the expectations to a good extent. Apart from beating South Africa who have been really devastating against other opponents, the Dutch had their chances to come up in the matches against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, but they were absolutely thrashed by the Aussies in their previous match.

They have bundled out oppositions two times so far and shown the tendency to recover from tough positions to post a good total with the bat. Bas De Leede and Logan Van Beek are among the top 15 wicket takers in the tournament. Six different batsmen have scored half centuries for them and all they will be looking for is a collective effort from their batsmen going ahead in the tournament.
