At the business end of the tournament, every game is a virtual knock out and holds a certain importance but here both the teams have qualified and still there is a lot to play for. Both the teams would be looking to top the charts.
Delhi and Chennai are completely opposite to each other but have grinded out results everytime. Both are at the top of the heap. Today's clash might just be a dress rehearsal for the final.
DELHI CAPITALS:
Delhi Capitals come into the contest with an emphatic win over Mumbai Indians which might boost their confidence a great deal. They will look to continue their form before the playoffs and might want to try different combinations but knowing Ponting he would go for the kill and play the same side that played the last game.
CHENNAI SUPER KINGS:
CSK on the other hand have defied odds and have gone a step further. Hardly anybody gave them a chance with the aging squad that they had, but they did prove everyone wrong. If you still think this CSK side is too old to play the game, you're too young to understand the game. This CSK side doesn't need to prove anyone how good they are. They have been doing this year in year out since the inception of IPL except for a year or two where they couldn't match their own standards.
Players to watch out for:
STEVE SMITH:
He is not a regular in this side but now that they have qualified, he might get to play one more game and would want to do well going into the knockouts. An Aussie who surely knows how to play the knockouts so more than Steve Smith, Delhi think tank would expect him to do well and help Delhi clinch their maiden title.
SURESH RAINA:
He has blown hot and cold this IPL but you cannot write him off. We all know how he has carried CSK on his shoulders throughout the IPL editions and if Dhoni is trusting him, you better wait for him to perform. Batting at no.3 again might just click for him.
Dream 11 Team:
There might be changes in the sides as both of them have qualified so making a Dream 11 team before the toss can be tricky. This is our team though.
