It's the time for the southern derby in Tata IPL.
Royal Challengers Bangalore who are sitting on the 4th position in the points table with 3 wins in 4 games will face the defending champions who are yet to win a game in Tata IPL 2022.
Team News
Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB won their last encounter against 5 times IPL champions Mumbai Indians where they won the game comprehensively with 7 wickets in hands. Their batting looks much stronger after the comeback of Glenn Maxwell to the side. Their top order is continously giving good starts and with Maxwell and in-form Dinesh Karthik in their middle order, they look like the team to beat.
Harshal Patel has flown back home for some personal reasons and therefore he will miss the all important clash against arch rivals CSK, Jason Behrendorff and Josh Hazlewood have joined the side after completing the mandatory quarantine and now are available for today's clash. There's a possibility that one of these Aussie mates, Josh Hazlewood in particular will replace the English David Willey in final eleven against the Chennai Super Kings
In their bowling department, RCB will hope that Siraj comes back to form soon with the former being out of touch and Harshal Patel not being available, RCB's Indian bowling lineup seems a little bit weak.
Chennai Super Kings
CSK appointed Jadeja as the new captain for the 2022 season but ever since he's been made the captain, nothing really has gone CSK's way and the defending champions languish at the bottom of the table with 4 losses in as many games.
CSK have plenty of concerns this year, to begin with the previous year's orange cap holder and young sensation Ruturaj Gaikwad is going through a rough patch which is not helping the team's cause. Their middle order hasn't really fired except for a few individual innings in patches.
Ravindra Jadeja after being appointed as the captain hasn't performed the way he used to in the previous seasons and has looked off colour both in batting as well as bowling. Chennai is missing their premium bowler Deepak Chahar who went through an injury just before the IPL. Chennai and their skipper Jadeja have a plenty of problems to deal with and they will have to find a way to win the games as a few more losses will certainly knock them out of the tournament.
