Overview:
Lucknow Super Giants: The new entrants of the IPL are doing good in the ongoing tournament and are here to make a mark in the cash rich league. The Lucknow franchise had a bad start when they squared off against another debutant Gujarat Titans and were clueless in their own bowling and the fiercy bowling of Mohammed Shami had them in splits until Deepak Hooda and new sensation Ayush Badoni helped the ship to not sink. They bounced back toppling the defending champions Chennai Super Kings with Evin Lewis tormenting the CSK bowling attack and 2016 champions Sunrisers Hyderbad despite a valiant effort by Nicholas Pooran and Washington Sundar. The franchise is now sitting pretty in the middle at the 5th position.
Delhi Capitals: The Capitals from the city of Delhi are now in 7th position with one win and a loss. They started their campaign with a win against the 5 time IPL champions Mumbai Indians where the combo of pace and spin troubled them in Kuldeep Yadav and Khaleel Ahmed. It was a pleasant sight watching Kuldeep perform after a long time as he was going down the river and was sinking deep and with this performance, he came back bombarding. A late on surge by Lalit Yadav and Shardul Thakur ensured the Capitals reached the finish line safe. They did not have a good outing against the debutants Gujarat Titans where Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya took the DC bowlers to the cleaners and the torpedo from New Zealand, Lockie Ferguson ran through the DC lineup and ended with figures of 4/28. They now square off against another debutant in LSG and would like to put back their loss and start afresh.
