It was yet another day of rain intervention at Trent Bridge. The match has been stopping and starting at Nottingham, which obviously wasn't well received by the players and the fans.
But in the limited action that was witnessed in the day, India had their nose ahead in the game. They dominated the day and are sitting comfortably with a lead of 70 runs after the end of day three.
RAHUL AND JADEJA TO THE RESCUE
India lost Rishabh Pant early in the day, who was looking ultra aggressive in his approach. At 145/5, the game seemed to be moving towards parity until Kl Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja stitched a nice partnership.

The 60-run partnership was crucial for India as the duo made sure that India got past the lead. Sadly, Rahul couldn't get a big score but his 84 ensured that India were in the driver's seat.
INDIAN TAIL WAGS!
The dismissal of a well set Rahul led to a mini collapse. India lost their next two wickets and were suffering with a score of 232/8 at one stage. They were further reduced to 245/9.
The last wicket partnership yielded 33 runs in just 26 balls, which was very crucial in the context of the game. Bumrah scored 28 runs in 34 balls, which was quite handy. India ended their innings with a total of 278 on the board with the lead being 95 after the first innings.

OLLIE ROBINSON, THE STAR
While England couldn't perform too well with the ball, Ollie Robinson playing his second test picked up his maiden fifer. His constant presence in the game ensured that India didn't run away in the game.
James Anderson on the other hand, surpassed Anil Kumble to become the third highest wicket taker in Test Cricket history. He currently has 621 wickets and would be looking to get more of them.
WEATHER PLAYS SPOILSPORT
Just as England's innings started, the bad weather arrived and the play again stopped and started for a bit. Finally, heavy drizzles and bad light put an end to the third day.
With 25/0 after 11.1 overs, the openers managed to calm the nerves of England but team India are well and truly ahead in the game. Day four promises to be truly interesting, provided the weather decides to be a spectator.
