It’s a super Saturday in the IPL and we are in for a blockbuster clash where Royal Challengers will be up against the might of Rajasthan at Jaipur. Rajasthan seem to be doing nothing wrong whereas RCB seem to be making blunders one after the other. Can Royal Challengers from Bengaluru stop Rajasthan’s juggernaut? Let’s find out.
Royal Challengers:
RCB doesn’t seem to learn. They keep making mistakes with terms of their team selection. They have bought in Cameron Green who plays his home games at Perth was found out for pace against a rookie Indian quick. RCB have bought him in for 17 Cr and now they have no choice than to play him. Their pace department is weak, but they are not playing experienced pacer in Lockie Ferguson. Spin department seems to be all over the place with no replacement found for Yuzi Chahal and Hasaranga. They have Karn Sharma who is not used at all. Virat Kohli is scoring runs but that is something that you expect from the great man, but his teammates need to understand that a team cannot win with his contributions alone. They have not understood it for 16 years, may be they will never understand.
Rajasthan Royals:
3 wins from 3 without the contribution of 2 of their best batters in Buttler and Jaiswal is something that they could have only dreamt of before the IPL begun. They have found a new hero in Riyan Parag. We are witnessing 2.0 version of Riyan Parag. He is calm, composed and batting with authority which has given RR a much-needed boost to go for their 2nd title. Their bowling was never in question. They have one of the best attacks in the tournament. As they say batting wins you the games, but bowlers win you tournaments.
Players to watch out for:
Glenn Maxwell
With top order not performing the way they should, it’s high time that maxwell needs to get in his groove and replicate what he did in the World cup. If Maxwell gets going there is no one in the world who can stop his. His bowling was good in the last game but was beaten for pace against Mayank Yadav. Yes, you can read it again. An Aussie beaten for pace in India by an Indian youngster. Maxwell will look to shrug off that batting performance and get RCB back to winning ways with his all round ability.
Jos Buttler
The toast of Rajasthan, orange cap holder in 2022 has had a torrid IPL thus far but what do we know? You just can’t write Buttler off especially against a team who is struggling with their bowling. Jos Buttler can hit the ground running in the IPL with today’s performance. Once Jos Buttler regains his form, we don’t think there’s anyone who can stop Rajasthan Royals from finishing top 2.
