The penultimate game of the tournament will decide the team that will face the Knight Riders in a couple of days. Both the Sunrisers & Royals will be looking to play their 3rd IPL Final having won 1 and lost 1. Both the teams have already played a game at Chepauk and lost.
SUNRISERS HYDERABAD : The Sunrisers were outplayed in all three departments in their last game against the Knight Riders. Their biggest strength in this tournament is their opening batters, but Travis Head has had a couple of ducks in the last two games. He has been dismissed in a similar fashion in both the games (playing down the wrong line to a left arm swing bowler). And he will face another quality bowler of the same breed in Trent Boult. Rahul Tripathi has been showing some good form off late will be huge positive for them. However their bowling has been on and off all season. Inspite of scoring huge totals they have never won games with a big margins. They conceded 215 against a depleted Punjab Kings side and 160 in just 13 overs against the Knight Riders. Chepauk has been aiding the spinners in the last 4 games but they don't have a quality spinner to exploite of the conditions.
RAJASTHAN ROYALS : The Royals have finally won a game after 5 games and 4 weeks time. They have lost some key players due to injury and other reasons but now they are just a game away from playing their 2nd Final in 3 years. The downfall of Chahal has coincided with the downfall of the Royals this season. Having picked 14 wickets in the first 9 games he has got only 5 in the next 6 games. But Ashwin coming back to wicket taking form will be a huge boost for them. In the batting department though, Jaiswal has been often throwing his starts away and it has been either Sanju or Parag who is bailing them out. Considering the Chepauk pitch and the experienced spinners, the Royals will go into this game with a slight advantage over the Sunrisers.

In the last 3 games, we witnessed the Chepauk behaving in its traditional way. The pitch might turn for the spinners in the first half & we can expect the dew to settle in the second half. If RR win the toss they would look to bowl first. But if SRH win the toss, they might bat.
