Runs galore as the bowlers looked helpless
First round is done of IPL 2025 and it has been a carnage for bowlers.10 innings so far and 6 times the scorecard have crossed 200 runs mark. Sunrisers Hyderabad, as anticipated by many before the tournament, have already given it a go for 300 runs mark as they smashed Rajasthan Royals for 286 runs at Hyderabad.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru were the first to start the run fest when Phil Salt and Virat Kohli plundered 80 runs in the powerplay in the pursuit of the 175 runs target set by KKR in the tournament opener at the Eden Gardens, which was continued by SRH who went a step ahead to blast 94 runs in the powerplay.
Apart from heavy run scoring, another thing which drew the attention of many is the performance of debutant and young Indian players. Many Indian debutants left aside the fear of the big stage and amazed one and all.
24 Year old Debutant Vignesh Puthur rocked the stage in the most engrossing battle of IPL when he picked 3 for 32 in his 4 overs for MI against CSK at the Chepauk, bringing him accolades all around.
20 Year old Vipraj Nigam, playing for Delhi Capitals, although failed to impress with his leg spin, smashed a scintillating 39 off 15 balls to bring his team back in the chase of Lucknow’s 209 which was in the end finished well by another young sensation Ashutosh Sharma.
24 Year old Priyansh Arya who made headlines with 6 sixes in an over in the Delhi Premier League felt no sign of anxiety on his IPL debut as his 23 balls 47 set up the perfect start for Punjab Kings against Gujarat Titans.
